What is doctrine? We find this word through scripture and in the New Testament Greek the word is "didaskalia" and it simply means "what is taught". So these are seven of the core principles that I teach.
We believe in the one True God as revealed to us first in His creation, Second in His relationship to the nation of Israel, Third in His revealing of Himself in the Incarnation of His Son Jesus of Nazareth and Fourthly through His indwelling Spirit given to all those who Believe in the Gospel of Jesus, Jew and Gentile.
Jesus Christ was God in human flesh, fully God and fully man.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14
Matthew chapter 1 gives a clear account of Jesus’ genealogy and incarnation; this account is echoed in all of the Gospels in the New Testament and is a perfect fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies. Genesis 3, Isaiah 7:14, Isaiah 9:6, Daniel 9
Salvation is needed for all mankind. Mankind was created perfectly and lived in peace with God in the Garden of Eden. (Genesis 1-2) However mankind was plunged into sin and eternal separation from God because of their sin and the punishment was far worse than just physical death. (Genesis 3) Because God is Holy, Just and Righteous the only way for mankind to be reunited with their creator was through a blood sacrifice of an innocent and perfect lamb. God promised mankind, from the beginning in Genesis 3, that there would come a perfect sacrificial lamb that would defeat the enemies of God and provide salvation to all who would believe. Jesus is the perfect sacrificial lamb who provided complete forgiveness and acceptance by God, made possible by the work of Him alone. It is received by grace alone, through faith alone, in the completed work of Jesus Christ.
“Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for guilt, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied;
by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make many to be accounted righteous,
and he shall bear their iniquities.” Isaiah 53
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
“For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13
The Bible is God's truth without any mixture of error in the original manuscripts.
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
2 Timothy 3:16-17
The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being. Although the word “Trinity” does not exist in scripture God has revealed this truth by interacting and revealing Himself in these three distinct ways, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
“There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” Ephesians 4:4-5
The motivation for Christian life and ministry is the reciprocated love of God because of the great salvation granted to us while we were His enemies separated from Him by our great sin.
“Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:37-40
“For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.” Romans 5:10
Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly to judge the living and the dead and establish his eternal reign and make all things new.
“and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.” Revelation 1:5-7
“Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new!" Revelation 21:5
“And he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead.” Acts 10:42
“I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom:” 2 Timothy 4:1
“but they will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.” 1 Peter 4:5
